Am I really a tragic?

Heres the short version of the story. My work wont approve any annual leave longer than one week......(I am just an office worker in an industry that works all year). I have been there for 3 years now and have only managed 2 trips to Bali with the one week guideline. Sooooo, this year I have put in my paperwork for my "one weeks annual leave", but I am thinking of resigning just prior to this so that I can have a decent length of time up there. Then I will temp when I return at any agency that will have me...life is for living, not working??? am I right?
