My husband has been putting feelers out for a new job. He has been offered two jobs. When the Workplace agreements arrived, both had no sick days and had shortened annual leave to 2 weeks per year. As my husband works 12 hours a day, 2 weeks annual leave is hardly sufficient.
He approached them and said he wouldn't sign unless these conditions were removed. They said if you don't sign as is, you don't get the job.
Needless to say he didn't sign them.
Unfortunately this is the way it's going. If we are apathetic where will it end - 12? We have to make a stand...if not for us, then for the future generations.
Okay...time to step down off my soapbox!
