When the next Federal election comes around,remember who is responsible for putting you in this position, Howard and his nasty little ex-employment minister Kevin Andrews. Some of us remember Andrews as the minister hand picked by Howard to repeal the Northern Territory Voluntary Euthanasia bill, something supported by approx 70/80% of Australians. So much for democracy! If I was [Roman Catholic] Andrews' priest, I'd tell him he wasn't welcome in my church for what he has done to working Australians. Whatever you do, don't forget these vindictive people at election time.
Presumably you still have the right to give your notice, so do so and enjoy a good break in Bali.
I was in management and/or self employed for most of my working life, but I would have been ashamed to have treated good people in such an unfair way. And have a look at what your union can offer you. If no-one is prepared to support the unions, then they won't be around to support the people who need them and that's just what Howard and his bunch of misfits want.
