My husband has a degree in Education and as a school principal earns approx half as much as an e.g. unskilled miner driving a truck, or a helicopter pilot flying the oil rigs etc... I have 2 tafe dipomas but can earn more as a cleaner or kitchen hand at the nickle or gold mines. Unfortunately the government doesn't rate education and medicine very highly, except of course if your name is Neale Fong. Its not only in Bali that the work ethic is skew-wiffy.
