I get a bit hot under the collar (as you canjh see).
I was at my computer (at work) waiting for a parent who could only come at 4.00 for an interview.
I don't know why I bothered because you are right about changing peoples minds.
I'm lucky I work in a "good" area now (I've done the hard yards though) and I love my job.
This week we have been trying to fit in making Monthers day presents, practising a dance for Public Education day next week and preparing Grandparents day. I'll be glad when next week has finished.
Then I have a student teacher for 5 weeks. NOW that's hard work.
But I love teaching.
The hours are a big contributing factor when people choose teaching. If they took that away the teaching profession would be in crisis.
When people compare the holidays they forget that they also get 6 public holidays that are during our breaks. So everyone else gets over 5 weeks. True we get 11 but do they have to go to work in their holidays and do work at home? I think not.
Some days I dream of being a checkout chick and only having to worry about counting money. LOL
I'm happy with my salary but it has taken me 13 years to get to a decent level.
When I started I was on $23.000 a year. It was so low I didn't have to repay my HECS debt that year.
I'll go and do my housework now. LOL
