as a 'on a break' student teacher... I know what you're on about.

It may look like a cushy job but imagine dealing with up to and sometimes more than 30 kids day in day out, each and every one of them needing your attention.

Now imagine coming home and realising that in two weeks your class has to present the school assembly/ end of year concert item whatever and you have to plan it - when all you really want to do is watch TV.

Imagine having to write reports for all the kids in the class in all the different subjects. Plus get a portfolio of work ready for each and every child to take home.

I could go on and on but it's probably not worth it as those with the opinion that teachers are worthless members of the workforce are not going to change their mind over a few words that I type.

Finally though, though it may appear that teachers work only 40 weeks per year 5 days a week, 6 hrs a day.... take a look at the bigger picture and it will paint an entirely different story.
