I hope some one is able to give us some advice. My Indo husband has travelled to Australia 4 times on tourist visa's, each time they are stamped 'no further stay'. HE has never over stayed. We are planning on lodging a spouse visa but are still gathering the required paperwork and are not quite ready. We will be appling for another tourist visa soon so we can continue to stay together as we also have children.

How do we request they dont stamp the visa 'no further stay'. We would like to lodge his spouse visa in Australia, if we tell them this, it is my understanding this will not help our situation as they prefer the immigrant to lodge the spouse visa in their country of residence.

We have been advised to apply for a multiple entry tourist vias, with the reasons he has family in both contries and would like to freely travel back and forth if required. However if they don't have the condition of no further stay added to this visa, we would be able to apply in Australia for the spouse visa. As much as we both love Indo this would save the cost of travlling back again. I have also heard that the waiting period may be quicker if lodged in Australia??

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I
