I have to agree that the multiple entry visa to Australia is the best option. I cant see why they wouldnt grant you one. Espeically if your partner has never overstayed any previous visa's
Im going thru the spouse visa process at the moment. I dont think it really matters where you lodge the visa. What matters is you give them everything they have asked for.
I spoke to our case manager this morning and she said, everything is fine for us (they didnt even need to have an interview with my husband or I) and told us that the longest process is waiting for the doctor in Sydney to OK the medical test results. And because he/she is usually so busy thats why it can take up to two months to process.
We both live in Jakarta, and the Embassy forwards all medical tests results down to a certain doctor in Sydney.
