Do you think it's safe for your family ?

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking of taking my family to Bali, staying in South Kuta in October. Friends have told me they felt safe 'n secure during their stays recently, but I have just heard the Oz govt. have upgraded their traveller's advice for that region to 'Reconsider your need to travel'.

I know there has been upgrades to hotel security & I don't believe everything I read so I'd like to hear from those who have been there personally.

1).. Do you think Bali is a safe destination.. terrorist-wise ?
2).. Would you feel comfortable taking your kids there ?
3).. The hotels sound safe but how secure do the streets/markets/attractions etc. feel ?
