I am about to visit Bali with my family in 4 weeks time, There are 13 of us all up going taking 6 kids. This will be my 14th trip and my kids 3rd trip. I have never felt so safe than i have in Bali and would not hesitate in taking my children, I would not go into Northbridge in Perth City but i'd walk through Kuta. I do not frequent night clubs but this is more to do with age than any fobia - plus white men can't dance. We have always stayed in Kuta or Legian and have never had a problem nor felt in any danger. I have found most people who warn and put down Bali have never been.
