When in Bali I never used to sit in a cafe and watch a bike park and think "gee, he could have anything in that backpack" .
I never used to get palpitations when all the lights went out in a shopping centre.
I never used to avoid large gatherings on Melbourne Cup Day.
I never thought "bomb" when a gas cylinder blew up (as it did at Lanai)
The innocence has gone for all of us and I do not beleive we will ever be "safe" again in our comfort zones, anywhere in the world.
Does the joy of Bali outweigh the niggling fear??? For us ..a resounding yes.. you have to decide for yourself.
People that say "it won't happen" or "you can just as easily get hit by a bus" are kidding themselves. You wouldn't walk in front of a moving bus and say "when my time is up, my time is up" would you?
