and Garuda. My friend flew home a couple of weeks back. Got to airport and was over by 7-8 kgs. She wasn't happy and said she wouldn't pay extra. Made a real fuss but to no avail so she pulled her bag off the scales and started taking stuff out. She had bought several windcheaters for her daughter so she started putting them round her wait and over shoulders. The garuda staff were telling her she couldn't do this. She gave them back the bag but it was still over. So she pulled it off again and started taking out more stuff.
Whilst this was happening the family checking in next to her had that many bags being piled on. They were let through and didnt have to pay so once again she complained loudly about why sopme people were let go and others weren't.
She kept taking stuff out till they eventually said ok put it back in and she paid no excess!!
People behind her were cheering in the end.
Moral of the story put up a fight.
I flew qantas and we were over for sure. One of us was 29. We engaged them in idle conversation and away they went no excess!!
