The last couple of flights I've been on I have noticed the amount of "cabin luggage" some people drag on, both on domestic and international flights. Coming home from Bali last trip the plane was nearly full, so therefore the overhead compartments were the same. When the last lot of people were getting on all their overhead locker room was totally filled with doonas, pillows and "junk" others had brought on and couldn't fit above their seats as they had filled them with their backpack, laptop and grog etc. I thought that this was really selfish, and then thought of the safety aspect of it and wondered why the cabin crew allowed them on with it in the first place. Probably because they are sick to death of dealing with people who make a scene whenever they don't get their own way, even when they know what the allowances are. I personally can't wait until they start banning most of the cabin "luggage" that is allowed at present. It'll make for quicker entry and exit from the plane just for starters.
