excess luggage costs extra in fuel. Sure they can put the tickets up to cover it but I think it's fairer for the people with excess to pay for it.
I know it's hard. It's easy for me as I go a few times a year but I can understand how people get carried away. But I have seen some of the stuff people take there. Full size hair straightners, full size shampoos, clothes for every season, 15 changes of clothes. If you go over with a bag that weighs 15kg you haven't got much chance of staying within the allowable limit.
