Business dictated a quick trip back to paradise as shops we supply were finally becoming busy and all wanting stock. With some reservations and worry my wife Jen booked us in with Jetstar 3 days prior to leaving. We received an email confirming the booking and we told a complete flight inventory would follow which never did. We arrived at Bris airport in plenty of time for our flight to Syd and connection to Denpasar where upon checking our email document we were directed to the very end of Jetstar check in and after waiting for ages while a customer disputed an excess baggage fee we spoke to the ticketing man who printed out our itinary and although as with our email copy of the flight stating the flight as Jetstar we were supposed to be with travelling Qantas and were told to run to the other end to Qantas as we only had 5 min to get on board. Summarising we were sent back and forth running several times between the 2 until it was too late to board. The next flight was an hour later to Syd but Qantas were concerned about making the connection to Denpasar, so it was suggested we quickly run down to Jetstar to get their thoughts on making the connection.(Not one of these persons spoke over a phone to each other to make things a bit easier) We were told that we should be ok as they would hold the flight. The flight to Syd was nearly 15 min late and by the time we got the bus over to international it was too late.
Our complaints fell on deaf ears until the manager arrived, and eventually stated that the next flight to Bali was in 2 days so he was willing to pay 1 night accomm in Syd or fly us back to Bris and start again in 2 days, we live at Noosa 1.5 hrs from Bris so that was not going to happen, he then suggested
That he could fly us to Perth, again waiting for 2 days but it was an earlier flight to Bali saving half a day, so we decided this the best option as it was only a quick 2 week trip and we had to have stock ordered and manufactured. Arrival at midnight Perth accomm was totally booked because of conferences with our only option an expensive apartment 1.5 hours south where the taxi cost $200.00.
I have done over 40 trips to Bali and never been treated like this. Jetstar staff were pretty much on the same level could not give a stuff attitude. Our diversion to Perth put a $1000.00 hole in our budget and affected business appointments, I honestly don't know how they operate.
