Although not a frequent poster nowadays, I have noted in times past that other posters have taken on the anti-Javanese attitudes of the Balinese people. They may have reasons for this, but in their belief (the Balinese) that all Javanese are crooks, I beg to differ.

During my most recent trip, I inadvertently gave a taxi driver a RP100,000 note in mistake for a RP10,000. Each of three times the driver said 'excuse me Sir', this is a 100 not a 10 and politely handed back the note, which in uncertain light has about the same colour. My point is that two of these drivers were Javanese and one a Timorese. So much for non-Balinese being crooks.

Using 4 taxis per day, due to a wonky knee, my taxi usage over three weeks would have been more than 80, usually piloted by smiling locals. Now I wonder..........?

Make sure you're not too stupid to fish out your glasses and remain aware of this anomaly.

Enjoy your Bali always.-:))
