Cash or Travels Chqs or ATM Card?

Hi everyone,
I'll be going to Bali in Late August and wanted to know what I should do about my spending money? Does anyone have any ideas about spending money? Like should i take cash or use a ATM card (heard its $40AUD a day only) or Travels Chq's?

The hotel i'm going to be staying @ does have a Security Deposit Box in the lobby
