I agree with Susanne and Shrek. Cash is the way to go. We did it the same way Shrek did. Plenty of cash in the hotel safety deposit boxes. Take out what you want each day, keeping a record if you so choose. We also took the credit card for large purchases (AU$100 plus, also the hotel bill), and we came home with money left over, and a credit card bill that wasn't very painful at all.
