You have purchased land for your Indonesian friend. He owns it, you don't. The Indonesian Government frowns on such arrangements. Plenty of recent info on the net.

But if you are happy with your arrangement then that's great.

I just don't want anyone who reads your post to get the wrong idea.

If it was possible for foreigners to own land in Bali then we would've bought there yonks ago. Probably the best deal is a 25 year lease.
