Just to let you know that I would never recommend using the Jayakarta hotel ...the deluxe rooms are definitely not as nice or large as the Melasti and they certainly don't know how to manage their booking system.
Just got back from Bali Friday and want to let people know what the Jayakarta is doing...I know things are busy in Bali right now but there is no excuse for taking a booking -and money...made 6 mths ago and then telling your customers( there were 7 of us) that there is no room in your hotel and you will all have to go to 3 seperate hotels- as far away as Kuta!!!
We had stayed at the Jayakarta then gone travelling, and when we returned from Tembok(which I must add the Poincina Resort is just fantastic and well priced) the Jayakarta had double booked the hotel...not only our booking but about 20 other bookings that night and this apparently went on each night for the remainder of our stay. They actually expected that it would be ok the place people in different hotels around Kuta ( 14Roses was one hotel) . We were talking to other people at the hotel and they told us that the same thing had happened to them the night before and they were a party of 23 people! So we stood at the counter and even though it took 2hrs we did eventually get rooms- really got to wonder what they were up to!!!! They also tried to get us out of our rooms early the day we left but we refused as we had late check-outs paid and organized.....really was not impressed by the time we left!
Bali was definitely busier than I have seen it for many years but if you really want a beautiful place to chill out check out poincianaresortbali.com it is a small ,incredibly well run resort on the beach .It is owned by Nyoman who has lived in Australia for over 20yrs and her attention to detail is second to none. We all agreed that this resort was the highlight of our trip and really worth the drive up ( about 3 1/2 hrs from Legian)
