So the stated beliefs aren't enough?

From what I can gather, the stated beliefs are that the Western World, primarily the US, have for the last few decades been responsible for the deaths of millions of Muslims in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Jordan, Lybia... have I missed some? Furthermore, they have been plundering the resources of these countries and establishing military bases in Muslim countries. (And rememebr that the State of Islam trancends national boundaries.)

Is that not enough? Why the need to brush this slaughter and plunder aside as if it's a mere trifle and look for "emotional/mental disturbances and imbalances"?

Look how crazy America went after 9/11. Look at all the violence that's been "justified" in the wake of that tragedy. If that happened every day for two years, then the US would start approaching the sort of death toll inflicted on the other side.

There's a bunch of other issues involved in all this. But do you really need to look beyond the obvious ones to find a reason why it's so easy for someone to justify their violence?

They said that a couple of million deaths pissed them off. Maybe they're not lying.
