A few personal thoughts

The bombings in 2002 have created a problem for me every time i travel now(we went 6 weeks after the bombing and weren't going to get our money back do off we went), given the fact we went to Singapore after sars broke out and sars kits were in the back of taxis, gave a concerning problem too....then we booked thailand and the bird flu broke out....when we were actually in the air going there, the tsunami hit.
2 weeks ago i was back in Bali sitting in Rajas.
This has caused me to think that no where in the world is safe anymore and given the crime that goes on at home, that includes our own country.
I said goodbye to a friend yesterday that is going back to London to live, her family are there and his are here.....she said does not matter where in the world she lives she will hurt someone, so off they go.
Life is not simple any more.

I was supposed to go back to Bali next week with my new found father, he won't go now and neither will my husband. They are saying wait 6 months......for what i ask? It took 3 years, but it happened again, when will it happen again now?Who knows.

My thoughts after so many near misses are that my time was not up. My husband agrees with that also, but the fact that we have an 11 year old daughter makes us in the eyes on many "irresponsible parents" if we took her back to Bali.
A sad fact cause they could be bombing here next and Bali would be her safe peaceful haven as it always was.
There is no right answer.
You must do what you think is right.
Some people i know on here never go anywhere but Bali.....that is also sad. Maybe this is an opportunity to go somewhere different.
We have taken our daughter to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Bali twice as well as melbourne and Sydney (too damned expensive there lol). She is so well travelled now, if she never goes anywhere again , she will have experienced the joy of it.
Then you get the people that say "oh when she is an adult it will mean nothing as the places will have changed too much"(as they say to me from my child hood travels)......well you can't win it seems.
And furthermore that has always made me laugh because some things never change.
Does New zealand still have mount cook and mud pools and snow etc...does Singapore still have chinatown and Sentosa island...blah blah.
Bali has changed since i was there 20 years ago but it still has the same people and the monkeys and kintamani is still in view.

There will always be negative people and it has been 1 week now since the last bombing.
This forum is just about worn out from will i or wont i?
I think people need to take five and remove themselves from all other thoughts and go someplace quiet and make decisions.
I have kermy inviting me for a few days in Dec/Jan and i have TinaG in march....i will make those decisions a little closer to when i have to.
And i wish you all luck.
Cheers Tubes.
