Le, I read your post above earlier and have now read it 3 times before I have posted this. I understand the sentiment I think you were trying to convey and agree with it in overall terms.

I do however fail to see what connection the 2002 bombing has had on your travels to other parts of the world and the circumstances you have encountered in Thailand and Singapore. Natural disasters in particular occur as randomly and without warning as the bombings last week.

When fanatics of any sort have an agenda, there is nowhere safe to run and hide. The entire purpose of this sort of heartless attack is to disrupt and instill fear in the hearts and minds of everybody. And guess what they succeed.

You only have to have been reading this forum over the past week and the endless posts of should I go or should I stay.

You are entirely correct in saying it is a personal choice and I don't actually see the purpose of the posts by many people. I would never look to a public forum to seek advice in order to make that decision.

Anyone struggling with that decision really needs to work out if the holiday they planned on having is going to be compromised by modifying their behaviour while there. i.e: eating out / going to clubs etc.

Maybe Shaddup is correct, could you give us your travel agenda for the next 12 months and then we can avoid the possible hot spots.LOL

I know your post was some personal thoughts. I mean no disrespect to you with mine.

The perspective of one's life is often best judged by working out if you see your cup as being half empty or half full. Mine happily, is most definitely half full and constantly being topped up for me to drink from again. Cheers
