Interesting to read your thoughts. We leave on 4th November, we were to take 15 year old granddaughter and her mother for their first trip out of Australia. Granddaughter is very interested in Arts & Drama and wants to further that interest in the years to come. We were so looking forward to walking the villages around Ubud with her and seeing her reactions to the varied arts & crafts.
I rang and spoke to my daughter last Sunday and told her that if she wanted us to cancel their trip we would, I put no pressure on her one way or the other, she said she would take some time to think about it. Spoke to my granddaughter Friday morning and she said "nan I still really want to go and I think mum does too"
I spoke to my daughter yesterday and she said "we are going, please don't cancel us". I laughed but felt a little nervous also. My daughter has friends who have just come back who have told her "go", she also has two butchers at her local butcher shop who debated with her if she should or shouldn't, one for & one not so sure, she left the shop saying "thanks for the kilo of mince and the advice guys". She was also surprised at the attitude of a couple of people advising her not to go and the agressive way in which they did so, she said however they were the minority
I think anyone who is booked to go back must have some mixed feelings, particularly if they are travelling with children, I wish them all well in whatever they decide because my mind is open enough to understand either way and I think that's the way most of us think.
Thanks Tuberose,
Coco
