After your first paragraph, maybe anyone who wants to go won't go now coz you're going? Scary stuff there Tubs. ;)
'Then you get the people that say "oh when she is an adult it will mean nothing as the places will have changed too much"(as they say to me from my child hood travels)......'
Funny thing for them to say. Because how we see things from a child's perspective is very different to how we see things as an adult. So even if a place didn't change, the person viewing it has. Every way I look at a thing, every thing is impermanent.
I took my stepdaughter to Java when she was a kid and returned home convinced it wasn't the right place for her. She's been to Europe since and loved it.
Then last year I got a 'phone call. " I want to thank you and tell you how much I appreciate you taking me to Java when I was 14 y.o. I didn't see then what I see now when I remember all the different experiences we shared there. I feel happy remembering it."
