Those Forumites who don't get or read the Weekend West Australian newspaper on Saturday will have missed these headlines on page 17.

The article goes on the say that 64% of people in a recent survey considered Bali as 'very unsafe' or 'somewhat unsafe', and while the people who were surveyed were from all over Australia, of the West Australians surveyed, of which 44% have visited Bali, 60% of those regarded Bali as unsafe and 70% were lacking in confidence in its medical care.

Now I know no one from the BTF was probably surveyed and if they carried it out online here the response would be vastly different, unfortunately however with all the bad press of late it appears our wonderful Bali has lost a lot of its perceived charm.

This is especially so in Queensland, as I have just invited my cousins living in QLD to come to Bali in April for my Birthday, and the answer was, 'not even if you paid our way would we come'!

The silly thing is that with all the shootings, stabbings, street brawls that are reported on TV every night from all over Australia, where are you safe?

Cheers, BJC
