Anyone in the Australian health system can sign themselves out against medical advice. We see it all the time especially where drugs or alcohol are involved. Noone can make someone attend tests unless they are scheduled under the mental health act. So much harder in Bali where I am pretty sure this type of law would not even exist. I think it's called patient rights, even if that right is too make a bad decision.
