And absolutley loved it!
First timers for myself and my boyfriend and stayed 2 weeks.
Got ripped off within the first hour of being there, but worked the currency and bargaining out within a few days.
Stayed at the Melasti Resort and Spa in Legian and loved it! Met so many people just by swimming in the pool and found out some great ideas, restruants to eat, where to buy items, where to exchange monies etc. Also stayed at the Ubud Village Hotel which was also wonderful, got upgraded which made the stay more plesant. So different to Legian, alot more peaceful. Then stayed at the Champlung Mas, which more hotel style. Wasnt too bad though.
EAT AT SAMMY'S RESTRUANT in Legian. best staff and service as well as the food! Good Aussie Tucker! Ate there 6 nights out of 15 :)Also Motzerella in Legian really good food.
Best advice for first timers.
- When bargaining for items work out the price you want to pay first! Then start the baragining. Start alot lower then what you want to pay and when you get to the price and they say not, walk out! they will chase you if they want it.
- Talk to people at the hotel, you find out so much stuff about the area just by having a quick chat.
- Experience different areas of Bali. Ubud was so different and lovely to your typical Legian and Kuta.
Did so much in 2 weeks of my life. Bali is not what you expect. It is a dirty country and alot of things arent plesant. But all in all had a great time.
