The school down the road I mean.
I walk regularly around a suburb in modern Australia and am always annoyed by the fast food wrappers and rubbish left laying on the ground, especially around school grounds after lunch times.
Naturally, we pay around $1,000 a year in rates to get this picked up.
A similar system needs to be implemented in Indonesia whereby each and every citizen pays money that they would otherwise pay on rice, to municipal authorities to pick up rubbish.
This would leave them starving, but the place would be spotless.
To bring things into perspective, generally speaking, Australians have nothing to be proud of when it comes to discarding rubbish about the place, but we are spared the growing piles by virtue of expensive civic endeavor.
Regretfully Indonesians cannot be afforded luxuries such as this, so we can criticise them for being "dirtier" than we are.
