During the last two days we have walked along Poppies 1 & 2 looking for certain shoes and tshirts.
Poppies is not a place i usually frequent. I have always found many shop owners to be Rude and Aggresive. Things have not changed. No wonder they have no business.

Try it on as they do, a money changer in Poppies 1 who I have used for the last 3 years would not give the listed rate for $50 notes! Only give 9 400 rp for $100 notes, not $50s.
After a long heated discussion I left, her loss, the next fellow changed it no problem.

Looking at tshirts, prepared to pay 40 000 rp, shop owner did not have correct sizes, the one he did have that we wanted was a dirty white one, asked for same model but new one not display, he not have! As we gave up and went to leave he yelled very nasty abuse in a horrible tone. Quite scary!

Then tried to get Nike Airmax knock offs. Offered upto 200 000 rp for them as had been told this was a fair price! Here's where we struck more aggression. Have given up on purchasing them now. Just easier to go to Surf brand retailers and pay for better quality.

No wonder it is quiet for shop owners, tourists like myself just don't bother with the antics anymore.

We spent last week over in Sanur, no wonder visitors are gravitating over there, it was far more pleasant. I still enjoy my time in Tuban but it will be shorter on my next visits.
Sanur was so friendly and relaxing and still entertaining enough that my Mr 16 year old has requested that we stay over there again in September.

We stayed 10 nights a Besakih. It reminded me of how Bali was years ago. It didnt matter that the staff were older, they are still employed. Tuban, Kuta, Legian seems to only employ young, fashionable and good looking people.

Am having a wonderful holiday. Not winging, just saying it as I see it.
Cheers. Hope you all enjoyed ANZAC day.
