Just a quick warning, my wife had her iPhone stolen from her bag by a taxi driver last week. Ok, there was some stupidity involved on our behalf because we'd been driving around with this guy for about an hour and we were having a good old chat, when we decided to duck into the surf outlet store on the bypass road. By this stage, we decided to trust the driver with a couple of our bags while he parked up and waited for us outside.
Later that day we discovered the phone was missing.
It's not so much the phone, we can always buy a new one, plus we had travel insurance. It's more the principle, as we had even bought this guy a drink and tipped him heavily (as we did with just about every taxi we took during our trip). It's also the fact that I had to make my own way to the Police Station in Kuta to file a report, and for my wife, the inconvenience of loosing her contacts as well as many photos.
By the way, I had a funny feeling when we left the taxi, so I remembered his name and number which is something I never do. I included this information in the Police report but wouldn't expect anything to be done about it.
