ago our son left (fell out of his pocket) his phone in a cab. We were meeting a local friend so she rang the phone and the taxi driver answered ........... anyway he wanted a ridiculous amount of money to deliver the phone back to us.
I told her to tell him to put it in the bin as it had a cracked screen which it did. Soon changed his tune and phone was returned for a small tip.........
I just hope you phone is on a local network so he can't ring up calls on your bill.............
