A few years ago my husband left $650 in an opened envelope on the bed on the day we checked out of Swastika Bungalows in Sanur.
We returned to the hotel for it about half an hour later. The cleaner had turned it into the manager, and the manager had put it in his safe.
Not one note was missing and it was all returned to us straight away, and with a smile.
It's not the first time I have come across this type of honesty in Bali, and I doubt it will be the last.
