But I really don't understand why people have to go and visit the orphanages in order to donate. Why is it necessary to pop in like magnanimous visiting royalty? Can't you just use your imagination? I support a Balinese orphanage and have never been there. I take their word for it that they need stuff.
Also, I dare say the kids put on a great show of cuteness and gratitude but would probably prefer to be left alone to get on with their schooling/lives in dignity.
