Accom Payment -What Currency - Question

Sometime back we had a discussion on what currency to pay your hotel bill in - Bali. I cant find it in the archives.
If the quote and confirmed reservation via booking direct to the hotel is say US$400.00. No mention of Rp then one should be able to pay in US Cash correct ?
