think it depends on hotel i stayred at satriya hotel booked on line nothing up front could have paid when i left but i paid when i booked in they was happy any way i wanted to pay other time i stayed white rose wanted to upgrade room when i arrived just slipped the guy on desk $aud 50 cash for 10 days
