When you arrive they will tell you what currency they prefer. If you are from Aus , some advice you can take or ignore . We have a import business and when in Bali pay in US$ . We do the whole transaction at money changer in Bali . From experience we find that we end up with a rate very close to the official rate of the day (last trip the rate was Au-Us $1.08 , we ended up $106.5) . Make sure you go to a changer that is like a mini bank . Buying and selling rate is normally 50idr apart. Be on the ball and check everything . When doing xtra large amounts never go to small changers . Hope this helps you and others ...
