Jayakarta or Kumala Pantai apartment?

We have a choice between staying in a privately owned apartment at Jayakarta or the ambassador suite at Kumala Pantai for part of our next trip in Jan.

Can anyone who has stayed (or seen) both offer opinions on which they thought was better (for Mum, Dad & 5 year old).

The KP appeals the most but is it worth the extra $$? We have been quoted US$270 per night for peak season incl. breakfast.

I am familiar with the Jayakarta but have never seen the apartments, or their location within the grounds. It would be a nostalgia trip to stay there as it was the hotel I stayed at on my first trip to Bali in 1992 (back then it was the Kuta Palace and full of Japanese tourists bellowing into the karaoke machine in the lobby day & night!!!)

Would appreciate some opinions :)
