We are going to Bali for the first time in September with some friends. Our friends have stayed at the Jayakarta and recommended it for the location, pools etc. They did say that the rooms were a little tired but they thought it was fine for the price. We have booked a 2 bedroom apartment as we are a family of 5 and like to have some space. They are staying in 2 adjoining deluxe rooms (family of 4).
As it is our first time to Bali and going with our friends who have been to Bali about 10 times, we booked on their recommendation. Since doing that, I've discovered this forum and reading the archives, I'm starting to get a little worried that booking the hotel 2 br apartments isn't the smartest thing we've done and we will be disappointed. Our children are 10, 8 & 7 so I suppose it's not a big deal having the apartments a distance away from the pool.
If anyone has any recent photos of the hotel owned apartments, I'd really appreciate it if you could please let me know and I'll forward my email address (sorry, hubby not too keen on leaving email address open!!). I'd rather prepare myself for potential disappointment now rather than arriving unprepared.
I know I'm probably sounding a little negative but we usually do our research before booking any holiday but we were in a tricky/delicate situation this time.
Apart from the uncertainty of the Jayakarta, we are really looking forward to our first trip and this forum has been an absolute Godsend. I've been mentioning things to our friends from this forum that they had no idea about!
If you have photos, we'd really appreciate them AND thanks so much to everyone for sharing all your tips.
