Lets get this forum back onto some happy posts.... why not share your more memorable experience....

Mine was back in 2004....Visiting our sponsor child for the first time..

Ok here goes. Arrived at SD3 just as the children were heading home!! Panic set in, thought we were too late. We jumped out of the car, and with Wayan, our driver, we found the Prinicpal. He called all the children back, and made them line up on the "dirt" area, in the playground. With list in hand of sponsor children that Noel had asked me to photograph, we started calling out the names. All the kids in Year 1 had already gone home for the day, so missed photos of them. As we went through yr 2, our little girl Putu's name was called out. We had been waiting for this moment for so long, with presents in hand, and heart in our throats, to our dissappointment, she was away sick! Well I could have cried, and did shed a little tear. All this way, and our last day too......Apparently she was home sick, and her partents were taking her to the witchdoctor. So I took photos of these other children, feeling realy envious of the sponsors, as they were going to be able to at least see the little kiddies.
After their photos were taken, we were able to look around the school quickly, as it was the end of the day for them. So took some more photos of classrooms etc. Our driver Wayan, translated to the Principal our dissappointment in not seeing Putu, and Wayan had assured us that he would come back on Monday and take photos of her, with the Prinicpal handing her our gifts. So we shook his hand and said goodbye, feeling really low. As we were walking out of the gates, we heard Wayan call us. Well......running up to us was a little girl,(just like a movie!) being followed by a her parents. It was our little Putu!!! Somehow her parents had heard that we were there, and brought her to see us. She was dressed too in her little uniform. She did look sick and uncertain as to who we were.We were so happy to see her!!!Wayan thanked her father on our behalf, for bringing her to meet us, as she was not well. She was really quiet, and didnt say a word. I opened up the pink backpack full of presents for her, and for the first time, she smiled! I guess all kiddies like presents! We took several photos, and then thanked them once again. Thought we better say goodbye to her, and let her go home.
Well smiles all round! We waved goodbye to all the kids at the front of their school, jumped into Wayans car and headed home.
What a great end to our Bali holiday. If we had left 5 mins earlier, we would have missed Putu!
Was certainly the highlight of our trip!

whats your great memory.....
