and didn't want to leave Bali after this particular day...
Woke up to the sounds and smells that are Bali to me and after a yummy , relaxing breaky of panckes and fresh fruit and a Starbucks coffee (Not the greatest coffee in the world, but better than what was on offer elsewhere)I left hubby -to-be to go and have his massage and I went for a frolick in the ocean at Kuta beach. There is something about the ocean that re-invigorates me...
Down to Poppies for a bit of shopping and then lounged around the pool for a while with a good book. I then had a warm stone massage at Melasti's, such an indulgant experience and walked out of there, or should I say floated out of there feeling on top of the world. As I was walking back into BGH I heard someone calling my name...It was Tony, our driver, he was sooo excited as he had just got a new vehicle and wanted to show me. I can't really articulate this but I had come to really like Tony and was so happy for him, his smile was something I will always remember.
Some more relaxing around the pool with our fellow travellers and then off to Jimbaran Bay for tea...in Tony's new car which still had the bubble wrap on the seat belt thingy's!! His old car didn't even have seat belts in the back!! So here I am eating Lobster on the beach, getting serenaded by the roaming band with my partner and friends...awesome.
On returning to BGH we all sat around the beach bar until it closed, enjoying the sights and smells and the fabulous waiting / bar staff (Putri is an amazing person)
It possibly doesn't sound like an exciting day but it was the culmination of everything I did that day, and how each experience left me feeling that made it such a special day...
Now I can't wait to go back (May 09) and gather some more fabulous memories
