We're a mid 30's couple travelling with 18 month son in March 2008 (after cancelling our June 07 trip - long story!) We've decided to stay in Sanur for a change, mainly because the beach is a bit more baby-friendly (we hope!).

Having never spent much time in Sanur and having not been to Bali for 5 years (gasp) I have no idea what's 'good' these days.

We're looking for a quiet, charming, mid-range hotel with nice big rooms, TV, fridge, aircon, preferably a reasonably private outdoor sitting area, with good facilities, kids pool, decent priced restaurant, and maybe a babysitting service. Ideally within comfortable walking distance to beach, cafes, and both beach and night markets, so we don't have to lug baby around in taxis all the time.

We don't like huge hotels, looking for something quiet, friendly and very Balinese in character, without being 'too' budget.

We were originally considering Villa Shanti, Respati or Bumi Ayu but since we're only going for 8 nights we can go up in price a little so now I'm looking at the Besakih Beach or Griya Santrian.

Which would you choose?

And for those of you who've stayed at either, which would be the best rooms for us? (we want to be ground floor, quiet, and not too far from either pool or restaurant)

Thanks!
