in adjoining rooms on the ground floor of the main building, we found the rooms looked exactly as they did in the photos, quite dated and plain, so no surprises there, but the bathrooms were really grubby.
Having said that we spent the first day looking at other hotels and decided the Besakih was in the best position, had the best pool and the grounds are very Bali, so we cleaned the bathroom and stayed. We had two kids and they loved it there, the staff were lovely and the food delicious.
Met other Aussies who were staying in bungalows and they said their rooms were fine. So if you stay there get a bungalow, just make sure you are up the beach end as near the front desk the rooms looked very old.
Not really a kids pool but a shallow area in the main pool that has little posts under water to separate it, you can see it in the Besakih photos.
My sister stayed at the "Griya Santrian" in June and loved it, and she is really fussy so it must be nice!
