We have been back from Bali just over 2 weeks now :-(((.... and we have been back and forward to the doctor trying to work out what is wrong with my 9 year old son. A week after returning from Bali he came down with the runs, stomach cramps, bad headaches & nausea. Apart from the runs the other symptoms still exist with the stomach cramps worsening along with the headaches. The severity comes and goes. The dr even sent us to the hospital thinking he might have had appendicitis.
So far the stool samples show no parasite, blood tests are clear so we are scratching our heads as to what he has. We are waiting on more results from stool cultures. He hasn't been to school for over a week now.
Has anybody come across anything like this before? I do remember reading about somebody's child who returned ill from Bali, but can't remember symptoms, only that they persisted for quite a long time.
Has anybody got any ideas?
