A couple of years ago my wife had very similar symptons. She was extremely sick and as you say it came and went. The doctor diagnosed a parasite and prescribed fladgel??? Not sure if thats how it is spelt. Took a couple of weeks to get over it. Whatever it was the prescription worked. Ask your doctor what he thinks. Hope he gets better.
