Great guy or just another Kuta cowboy?

Now how can one be sure that the guy is not a Kuta cowboy?
I met mine in a nightclub in Kuta, spend two wonderful weeks with him and will see him again in September.
He has long hair, speaks English and is westernly dressed, which are supposed to be signs of Kuta cowboys...
I really fell in love but in the same time I am scared since I can't be sure that he really likes me too.He never asked me for anything, and even now that he has difficulties he doesn't ask me.
But a Kuta cowboys probably wouldn't want me anyway: I am most of the time out of money and am only 22 years old...
Please, has anybody else had any experience, especially good one, tell me about it.
