Some good partnerships have started that way and some have just stayed holiday romances, I have many friends who have Indonesian wives and husbands.
I think maybe you should treat this softly softly, see how things progress and see if he stays in contact. Some times things cool off once back home.
In many cases you will not be the only girlfriend, but seeing as im the eternal optomist I can only wish you a wonderful romanctic adventure.
Rule No. 1
Don't send money every month if he asks. If this is going to last, he should be in a position to support you.
Rule No. 2
If his idea of romance is you pay for everything for he and his mates at the nightclub, the alarm bells should really be ringing after rule 1 & 2.
