We decided to utilise one of the airport lounges and after going through immigration the Prada lounge counter is basically the first thing you see. Do not be swayed! Firstly we were asked for Rp150,000, hubby and I said thanks but no thanks, Premier was around the corner. We were told in no uncertain terms that Premier does not accept Qantas passengers. Foolish me, tired and wanting to have a snack and drink wavered.......lesson no. 1, do not waver! Pounce, and you all thought that the beautiful 42kg Balinese girl was a pushover - a Sumo wrestler would not have a chance. Mind you, we did say that we had been told that Rp150,000 was too much and others had paid Rp100,000. A blink, a little hesitation and the deal was done. After walking the equivalent of the Boston marathon, one arrives at the Prada lounge (previously the Qantas lounge). Looks beautiful but the food on offer is very poor, the selection of drinks is extremely limited (do not entertain the thought of a vodka and "orange" unless you want a splash of vodka mixed with orange cordial).
The beautiful large plasmas are all programmed to Indonesian programs, the internet is pay per use, the advertised reflexology is not free and the promised "personal" flight call is non-existant.
We spoke to a Qantas Club member who would ordinarily get free entry to Premier Lounge but was 'hijacked' into the Prado Lounge unaware that she had a choice.
Do yourselves a favour, pay that much extra for the Premier Lounge if you want the lounge experience or pre-book your plane seats and come a bit later to the airport.
