I was simply lending the story in an effort to discourage young folks from being tempted to seek out opportunities for drug use while coming to or while they are in Bali. My take on the story was one that if she was PERCEIVED to have been guilty of smuggling those drugs, those that in fact possess or persue drugs while in Indonesia should realize the true consequences. I don't support whether the story is "in depth" or not.....I only support that Indonesian authorities are very very serious with their measures against drug use. The term "hooking up" that I used is from a western expression that is used here in America. For example "Can you hook me up?" "I need to hook up?"...this is a common slang for inquiring about obtaining drugs amongst American youth. I'm not aware of how it's done in Oz. I meant no disrespect by providing the article. I only meant to inform.
We often experience the same incidents here in San Diego, CA (where I live) as we are located close to the Mexican border. There are currently several people awaiting sentencing in Tijuana for situations that are nearly identical to the person facing judgement in this article. It's my humble opinion that's she's innocent and ultimately, I wish there was something I could do to lend a hand in getting her free again.
