Why hiring a villa?

We are thinking of going back to Bali in November 2004. In the past we always booked hotels, but when seeing the possibilties of hiring villa's, we are wondering why we should stay in a hotel. Those villa's are just too nice too be true. In fact they are so nice, we are getting "suspicious". Such nice villa's with staff are not meant to be for "normal working people". So please all information, experiences, tips, are welcome! Thanks, Karin-Belgium
